What / Where I Ate - Saigon Quan

Another Saturday with my weekend companions.
We dined at this Viet resto in Park Mall.

the RICE (a staple for Filipino)
we opted now for a variety: the Pineapple Rice

Wherever we dine, we always have to have a 'PANCIT" - my dad's favorite their Pancit Canton

I am now a fan of seafoods, always craving for it, especially shrimps
Shabu2x, the SaiGon way

on me: thrifted black satin long blouse red Lycra camisole thrifted belt my favorite black twill shorts d-i-y Hello Kitty necklace Fila sling bag MNG lace-up red wedge black Nike watch

--- Do try out SaiGon Quan, it's worth it ---

The Hungry Stomach: Salted and Hot

I have always gigantic interest in good food.  When I say - good - the food should quench my gustatory cravings... and since, I cannot always have it that way, that is when I learned to raid our food storage and conquer the kitchen!
I collectively call my recipes as THE  HUNGRY  STOMACH
 Recipe#1:  Salted and Hot
the 'exposed' ingredients: olive oil (or any vegetable oil); onion (white or purple); tomatoes (ripe! most prefered), CHILI PEPPER:  bell, Bird's eye (labuyo), green Chili de arbol (espada), red tien tsin (kulikot), jalapeño; and dried bay leaves
dehydrated salted fish (buwad pinikas), medium sized and pretty-clean-looking, of course
sumptuous dish that satisfies the cravings for sodium chloride and capsaicin
this serves 4 -6 persons

What/Where I Ate - Casa Verde

For the first time with my family, we dined at Casa Verde at The Walk. Ordered my favorite recipes...awesome dinner.

Brian's Baby-back Ribs!!!

SHRiMP-IN-A-BARBIE Appreciate their rendition of shrimp-on-sticks, but not that palatable according to my taste
the ceiling
Buffalo Wings
My overall rating of the restaurant is 10
The food is great, the place is great despite of the minutes we have to waste just to wait for our turn to experience a sumptuous meal at Casa Verde.
I believe this is a Cebuano's pride.
It's the one place you have to go once you come here in Cebu City.

Casa Verde is located in The Terraces at Ayala, The Walk at Asia Town IT Park and at Ranudo Extension, Ramos St. near Velez Hospital.

Visit here for more of CASA VERDE.

The Long Weekend That Was - Part Three

September 11, 2010  We went to Parkmall! 1.) played on their playground  2.) experienced shopping at a Park Bazaar - though stalls were limited - 3.) tasted shave ice for the first time

on me: Color Coordination - Black and White thrifted cowlneck graffiti black&white quarter-sleeve dress
black leggings
zebra print flats
Kipling shoulder bag
silver accessory watch
Park Bazaar find:  neon green-pink wedge, imported from the U.S.A. (from a balikbayan package)
I have always wanted to try flavored shave ice and finally...
introducing... Monster Mash  a mix of artificially colored and flavored strawberry-blueberry-pineapple syrups for Php 55 regular size

and see, they baptize your cups... souvenir perhaps?
Have you tried flavored shave ice at Cherry's Hawaiian Shave Ice?

What / Where I Ate - Banana Leaf

We frequent Banana Leaf basically because their food really has pronounced taste and its Thai. but most important consideration:
my mom likes to dine here (1st priority!).

I honestly forgot the exact names of these foods, but surely are gastronomically satisfying.

the architectural ambiance

the appetizer: toasted prawn

superb-tasting mussels

the rice

the pork

the noodles

What / Where I Ate - Flavours of China

Another delayed post... anyway we went malling to SM last August 28,2010.  We spent, somehow wasted, two (2) hours waiting for the 3 lead casts of the concluded Agua Bendita (my dad is a super-fan of this teleserye); the tarp says mall show starts at 4pm but the stars arrived 6pm.  Since I was at my mood of seeing Andi Eigenmann in person, so we did patientlywait, standing at SM's covered parking lot.

Then we had dinner at Flavours of China at the Northwing We ordered their Bundle, a good for four meal set worth Php 888 Restaurant rating: 6   1.)Not impressed with their menu, staff and ambiance 2.) Did not have a Flavourful Chinese Dining Experience

What/Where I Ate - Red Kimono

Red Kimono is located only at The Terraces - Ayala Center here in Cebu City. Honestly, I do not like Japanese food, but I was partly thrilled at the thought of having dinner in this restaurant.  Maybe because I got hold of that promo card and coupons 'they' (advertising pips hired for Red Kimono promotions) offered to us at the office earlier that afternoon last August 25, 2010.

Salmon Cream n' Cheese Roll
the freebie: Ebi Maki
I forgot the name of this food but it did taste good that's why i gave it an eight (8).
Chicken Terriyaki Bento, rated it half from the perfect score since I think  Rai-RaiKen's version of this bento is much tastier.
we dined alfresco so I got to capture the changing lights of this 5-leaf roof
I somewhat matched to the restaurant's theme colors: Red and Black wearing a cropped D&G long-sleeve top with red/white/black rhinestones and a pair of red flats with micro polka dots in black
my 'silver-wares' for the night and white gold diamond…

What/Where I Ate - Joven's Grill at Parkmall

Was introduced to Joven's Grill  by a colleague while I was in search for another EAYC(eat-all-you-can) here in the city.  So my family, a newbie and I went there and tried to 'assess' their foods.  I am rating their restaurant (inclusive in my rating are the foods, presentation, variety and the place): 7  I was not that gastronomically satisfied since the place was crowded and we were forced to eat outside with a candlelight only.  Anyway, I was somehow happy since, at long last, I have finally discovered the HELLO KITTY goodie that I have been looking for.  Thought it was a cake but it was pure chocs, still ok anyway.

cakes and pastries are from Cream N' Bake and sold at Joven's Grill

and I did take home the whole body Hello Kitty chocolate

Ponce Suites
is located at Corner Roads 3 & 4 Doña Vicenta Village, Bajada, Davao City.

How I find out about this hotel?   I was in search for places to stay for our trip in Davao and when I clicked on the link to the suite, I was astounded with all the optical grandeur.  From then on, my excitement never stopped till the day we arrived at the lobby of the hotel-gallery.  The place was far better from the pictures that were posted on their website.  Aside from the outrageous virtual masterpieces in and out of the hotel gallery, what I liked about the place is that Ponce Suite is situated in a peaceful, safe, quite village, so unlikely right?  It is indeed a must-see for art lovers like me.   It did quench my craving for the arts.
