I DRESS-UP AND EAT

On our fourth day in California, we went back again to Mickey-D's in Anaheim, which is situated a few blocks away from the Anaheim Convention Center, for our breakfast. Day 3 of the EXPO Though I have this stick-to-itivness attitude when it comes to liking foods in certain eateries, but that morning, I decided to try another kind (though still with Mexican taste) of breakfast meal - the McBURRITO Breakfast! I went for iced coffee since I badly needed a large dose of caffeine to keep me up and alert that day.  What I loved in this meal was the mixed berry yogurt!  My food rating = 9 of 10! For our breakfasts in the next remaining days of the expo, we decided to head over to a more affordable breakfast house as we needed to stretch on our budget for food.   McDONALD'S was our ultimate choice. DAY 2 of the Expo I was hugely fired up with the thought of having the chance to eat McDonald's from its home court.  Of course, almost everyone knows that McDonald's originated in the United States of America and that morning was the best chance for me to finally taste the real deal. By the way, have you seen The Founder movie released this year? It is a story about McDonald's, its origin and success through the years.  If you ask me, I have not seen the whole movie but have a number of sightings with the teaser  / promotional videos. They have indicated stations at the counter for order and pick-up which gives organization within the customers in queue. I never set expectations for the menu options, maybe because I anticipated that...

During our travel in Thailand a week ago, my good friend and I and who happens to be my best bud at work opted for the more familiar fast-food chains to feed us.  We did bravely try authentic Thai foods but they were not that gastronomically acceptable. I am not an avid fan of McDonald's but it's way better than eating unfamiliar foods with exotic tastes. Like in other countries , rice is not a staple food in the McDonald meals. So I ordered this Pork Burger meal with french fries and soda for 103 baht (Php 140++) Amazing since I paid for a regular meal and the fries and drinks were large.  But when you order for Go Large, they will give super XL fries and drinks that may be good for two or three pax. Another familiar fast-food is KFC ! Yehey!  Finally there was a meal with rice.   BUT, a BIG BUT... the chicken looks yummy but tasted yucky?? :-( The one in the cup is a tuna salad, quite ok.  Not to mention the rice, superb. McDonald's is never a favorite fastfood but  I can endure eating their chicken fillet and french fries,  except for their burgers. When we were in Shanghai last June, well, we had lunch at the CPhI Expo site's McDonald's.   NO RICE policy there, (hold true however for other countries' McDonalds').  They have  different sets of value meals and are pricier compared here in the Phils.. I ate value meal B.  Had difficulty consuming everything since everything was 'large'. I said, I am not a big fan of McDonald's  but, eating a value meal at McDonald's in Marina Square - Singapore was an unforgettable experience. Everything was LARGE also but the BURGER was really superb.
