A Visit to Davao

Please bear with me in this another long-overdue posting.  A day after Christmas, we headed to Davao to visit relatives.  This has been an annual activity for the past three years and counting.  Just want to share to you the places I've been in Davao.  It is a peaceful place to be. Add caption First time in SM Lanang Premier in Davao, and first time to dine in SUMOSAM.   at the People's Park After our first try in LEGASPI SUITES , we promised ourselves to stay only in this hotel  every time we visit the city. My breakfast at Legaspi Suites What I Wore in Davao: Although it was December, but we never had cold day temperatures on this month.  So my outfit, looks like it was summer time.  My cap is on, strutted those scallop shorts, fitted print tee, and a sweater on the waist for a semi-grunge feel.  Don my pink flats ready for comfy walks. Happy Sunday to all!

What / Where I Ate - Eating My Favorites

I could remember I have these series of posts of the foods I ate at restaurants and fast food chains.  And I am bringing it back on again as the 2014 has just kicked off. I visited these shops straight in a day. 7-Eleven Convenience Store sprung up like mongo sprouts.  Downtown, uptown, 7-Eleven is existing anywhere. While waiting for my shopping buddy, I read  my photography magazine (hoping to learn the basics - which I should have learned long long time ago) which I brought along.  I bought my favorite pretzel choco-almond coated sticks - PEPERO, sipped some NESTLE mango yogurt drink and NATURE's SPRING alkaline water. By lunch time we decided to drop by BTC and opted for Dimsum Break to fill in our growling tummies. One of the best goodies in Dimsum Break (or at Harbour Dimsum or Ding Qua Qua) is their SIAOMAI. Together with my Siaomai is the Spicy Steamed Rice.  I'm so glad that the spicy variant is back! We went to SM after lunch.  And lately I'm lovi...

What/Where I Ate: Royal Krua Thai

Blogging on restaurants and the good eats they serve was one of the context of this blog.  I'm reviving these series posts now since it has been awhile that I stopped sharing about what and where I have eaten to satisfy my gastronomic cravings. ROYAL KRUA THAI RESTAURANT SM City Cebu My new fave:  Salmon Skin with Green Mango Strips - it's SPICY! Thai Paste Rice - spicy with Prawns Thai Calamari  Mixed Fruit Drink Tom Yum Soup - authentic Thai  Do remember to have a taste for authentic Thai cuisine at Royal Krua Thai in SM City.

What / Where I Ate - Blue Elephant

We opted to stroll around AsiaTown IT Park and have dinner at The Walk while my parents and I waited for my sister until 9pm last night.  It was a Friday night and the park was jam-packed with cars and all sorts of people.  It was almost 7pm when we arrived there.  My mom wanted to eat Bryan's Baby Backribs at Casa Verde, remember this post ? but I told her we will try another eatery, and there I discovered  BLUE ELEPHANT. Elephants greet you upon entry to the restaurant.  I believe this is owned by the proprietors of Siam and Krua Thai. cute bar counter Here are our orders for the night: apologizing for the grainy photos   Mama Noodle Soup - my rating : 9 I'm giving it a nine since I am tasting "that" ingredient that i sort of abho r in Thai cuisine, but anyway "that" made the noodle tasted authentic. My Dad really loved the soup!  Sauted Mixed Vegetables in Oyster Sauce - my rating : perfect 10 Love the taste and the crunchiness of the veg...

Australian and Korean Cuisines

In a week, we dined at two restaurants of two different countries-cultures-cuisines. 1.) CANVAS BISTRO BAR GALLERY at the Terraces in Ayala. I was with my family and it was our first time at the bistro.  We do not have any idea what to order.  I have no pre-gathered reviews of the restaurant.  So I asked the lady, who attended to our table, as to which would be their best-seller.  She replied: Pork Medallion with Tiger Prawn and Pesto Fettuccine.  So I ordered it.  See the picture just right below.   We got a taste of their pasta and steak.     What I like in this bistro is that they serve healthy drinks such as Cranberry Juice and some tonic mixes.   and they do serve garlic bread as appetizers??  It is a gallery indeed with walls filled with framed jewelries from some jewelry artists.     And the bistro inspired me to start my own collection of HATS ! Got to leave you with this link for some Australian cuisine info: ...
