Something Japanese in Cebu City, Philippines - RAMEN SORA

When my mom is dining with us outside our home, seldom do we have the chance to convince her to a Japanese restaurant.  But since she has been interested in Ramen some few months ago, when I suggested for RAMEN SORA , the supposed "no" became a Yes! It is always true, that one should not judge a book by its cover.  The menu of RAMEN SORA was somewhat shabby, but when I opened the first few pages, I was astounded by the informative content.  The spread above discussed on "How to Enjoy a Ramen" and below was a vivid illustration of the parts/ingredients of a Ramen.  How cool and enlightening! And this is how our actual RAMEN appeared right before our eyes, see photo below.   MISO DELUXE SORA RAMEN was recommended by the wait staff to whom I inquired as to which was their bestseller ramen. It costs Php 435.00, it was good for sharing up to 3-4 persons.   Comment on Taste:  A bit salty than my level of salt tolerance ...

Something Japanese in Cebu City, Philippines - 168 RAMEN HOUSE

Eating Japanese food, and this time it's all about RAMEN . It was a bountiful meal and we ordered several Japanese dishes:   SPICY SHOYA STAMINA RAMEN (whole size)  SEAFOOD RAMEN  - half size + Php 20.00 to make it SPICY  SHOYU RAMEN - half size GYOUZA  JUMBO SIOMAI CHAHAN - half size Since we knew we were dining in a RAMEN House, so we ordered several ramen dishes.  And all of the 3 ramen recipes we ordered were delectably memorable.  I am giving a perfect 10 for all the 3 dishes for the generous serving size, the abundance of ingredients and the richness of its taste. My overall rating for the restaurant: (food + services + ambiance + value for money) = 8 of 10, mostly for the foods' taste and serving size. This particular branch of 168 RAMEN HOUSE is located at  27, Crossroads, Gov. M. Cuenco Ave, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu Phone : ...

Something Japanese: Reddo Ramen Restaurant

Let's eat ramen at REDDO Ramen! Japanese food is never always about sushi and sashimi, well, these are actually my favorites, but, remember there's ramen too?   We were at City Time Square and we decided to dine something Japanese for lunch, that's when we discovered REDDO RAMEN RESTAURANT. This was how AKA KARA RAMEN looked like when served, does not appeal deletable, see the photo above .   A bowl costs Php 290.00  It was the spicy ramen in the menu, see the red cluster of soft powder, that's the chili!   After mixing the ramen, this was how it looked like.   Appears like a ramen this time. The AKA KARA RAMEN is a ramen in pork bone broth topped with spicy sauce, slices of homemade chasyu, bean sprouts, fungus and spring onions. My rating for this ramen is 6 of 10.   The serving size was actually good for two, it stood up to its claim being spice, very spicy according to my taste bud judgment but it tasted some...
